The New Year starts strong for our Gujarat Titans, with stellar performances on both domestic and international stages. From thrilling Test matches to standout moments in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, our players are proving their class. Here’s a look at their 2025 highlights so far!
International Performances
Prasidh Krishna
The tall Indian pacer made a memorable impact in the Sydney Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Handed an opportunity in the final Test, he grabbed it with both hands, claiming six wickets across two innings. With figures of 3/42 in the first innings, including the prized scalp of Steven Smith, and 3/65 in the second, dismissing Marnus Labuschagne and Smith again, Prasidh’s brilliance played a pivotal role in keeping Australia under control.
Mohammed Siraj
Siraj kicked off the year in style, continuing his stellar form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the Sydney Test, he delivered a fiery spell, taking 3/41 in the first innings, including key scalps like Travis Head and Sam Konstas. Alongside Prasidh Krishna and Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj’s efforts helped India bowl out Australia for just 181 runs.
Kagiso Rabada
Rabada started the year with a bang in South Africa’s Test series against Pakistan, claiming 6 wickets in the opening match. With figures of 3/55 in the first innings and another 3 in the second, he dismissed key players like Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel, powering South Africa to an innings victory. Rabada also impressed in the SA20 league, delivering a brilliant 2/10 spell for MI Cape Town against Joburg Super Kings.
Rashid Khan
The Afghan spin wizard, Rashid Khan, dazzled in the second Test against Zimbabwe, delivering a match-winning spell of 7/66 in the second innings to help Afghanistan secure a 72-run victory. His earlier 4-wicket haul in the first innings further highlighted his dominance with the ball, making it a memorable performance.
Domestic Performances
Nishant Sindhu
The young all-rounder from Haryana, Nishant, has been in brilliant form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In a match against Bengal, he scored 64 off 67 balls, helping Haryana set a solid total of 298, and followed it up with a tidy 2-wicket spell. Against Gujarat, he was outstanding with the ball, taking 3/40 and restricting them to just 196 runs.
Mahipal Lomror
Lomror had a strong start to the year, stepping up under pressure for Rajasthan. In the Preliminary Quarter-Final against Tamil Nadu, he played a key knock of 60 runs to guide his team through. He also contributed with a solid 32 runs in a game against Vidarbha, demonstrating his consistency.
Rahul Tewatia
Tewatia was the hero for Haryana against Odisha. Chasing 269, Haryana was at 181/5 when Tewatia’s unbeaten 59 off 37 balls, filled with boundaries and quick running, led them to a comfortable victory with three overs to spare.
Kumar Kushagra
The young wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand, Kushagra, made a mark against Odisha with a solid 78 off 80 balls, including 8 fours and a six. His mature innings helped Jharkhand set an imposing total of 320, laying the foundation for a dominant performance.
Manav Suthar
Rajasthan’s skipper Manav Suthar showed his fighting spirit against Sikkim. Chasing 276, Suthar played a captain’s knock, scoring 57 off 61 balls. Despite his best efforts, Rajasthan fell short by just 6 runs. His leadership and performance were commendable, even in defeat.
