Titans FAM, the wait is over! We are thrilled to announce our retentions for TATA IPL 2025.

Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan are set to continue their journey with the Gujarat Titans.

In the upcoming mega auction, we will be heading in with a purse of INR 69 crore alongside one Right to Match (RTM) card.

The 2024 season may not have gone as well as we had anticipated, but the remarkable success in the opening two seasons continue to inspire us to our position at the top of the league.

  1. Shubman Gill

Since his arrival in 2022, Shubman Gill has been the backbone of our team. Shubman scored 483 runs in his debut season for us, including four half-centuries and played a brilliant hand in the final against Rajasthan Royals, where he famously hit that title-winning six.

Shubman notched a career-best performance in the 2023 season where he won the Orange Cap by scoring 890 runs, the second-most runs in a single IPL season. His season included three centuries and four fifties, strongly affirming his status as one of the best batters around. None of us can ever forget those brilliant centuries at the Chinnaswamy Stadium against RCB and at home against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 last season.

Taking over the reins as captain, Shubman led by example with the bat, scoring 426 runs which included a century. We are filled with excitement to see the future ahead with captain Gill at the helm of affairs.

2. Rashid Khan

No T20 team would be complete without a world-class spinner, and we are fortunate to have one of the very best in Rashid Khan.

Rashid started weaving his magic right from the outset in our first season, where he returned with 19 wickets. He upped the ante in 2023 with 27 wickets, which includes a spectacular hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders. Rashid also became the first player to cross 50 wickets for our franchise during the 2024 season.

Also not to forget, he underlines his value as an all-rounder with remarkable contributions as a batter - let it be those last ball finishes against SRH in 2022 or PBKS in 2024, or the unforgettable night in 2023 at Wankhede where he smashed his highest T20 score.

We cannot wait for more of these!

3. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan’s journey began with us in our first season and the young promising talent quickly brewed into a match-winner. With two spectacular knocks in the knockout stages in 2023, including a 47-ball 96 in the final against CSK, Sudharsan solidified his status as a pillar in our line up.

Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Sai went on to make his international debut in both ODIs and T20Is following the success with us. He made his mark in the Indian blue as well, with two fifties in his first three ODIs.

Sai’s rise continued in 2024, where he was our top run-scorer with 527 runs at an average of 47.90, including a century against CSK. Sudharsan’s consistency and hunger for runs helped us take giant strides during his stay with us and we are thoroughly excited to continue this journey in 2025.

4. Rahul Tewatia

The phrase “spectacular comeback” had become synonymous with Rahul Tewatia on social media and why not? The exploits of our dashing left-handed batter in the middle order gifted us some memorable wins and our Titans FAM will be eagerly waiting for more of those in 2025.

Few players have managed to capture the imagination of fans like Rahul Tewatia. Known for his incredible big-hitting ability and ability to go after the bowlers, Tewatia has earned his reputation as one of the IPL’s most exciting finishers.

Since joining us in 2022, he’s delivered many memorable performances, including the thrilling two sixes off the last two balls to clinch a win against Punjab Kings, when we needed 12 off 2. Tewatia has maintained a strike-rate in excess of 145 in each of the three seasons and excelled in what is a difficult role.

More Tewatia mania, #AavaDe!

  1. Shahrukh Khan

Talking of terrific middle order batters in the Indian domestic circuit, Shahrukh Khan has quickly risen as one of the best in this niche role with his exploits for Tamil Nadu in Indian domestic competitions and in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Shahrukh’s journey with the Titans began in 2024 and we saw quite a few glimpses of his power-hitting ability as a finisher. He also scored his maiden TATA IPL fifty against RCB at our home ground, finishing with a 30-ball 58.

He recently impressed in the Tamil Nadu Premier League as well, delivering three consecutive fifties for Lyca Kovai Kings, including a blazing 18-ball half-century against Salem Spartans. That remarkable knock showed his potential, and we’re excited to see him continue this form in IPL 2025.

The stage is now set for an all-new beginning.
