Darshan Nalkande and Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets apiece.
On a testing night, our Titans put up a brave show. But it was not enough to stop Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from recording a 33-run win in the TATA IPL 2024 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (April 7).
Umesh Yadav (2-22) and our young Titan Darshan Nalkande (2-21) were the pick of our bowlers as we restricted LSG to 163 in their 20 overs. In reply, the chase got off to a good start but some wickets in the middle overs kept us from getting over the line.

Bowling first on a track deemed better for batting, our Titans were up for the challenge. Umesh was the first to taste success when he dismissed Quinton de Kock in the first over and later returned to send Devdutt Padikkal packing in his second. But Marcus Stoinis and KL Rahul consolidated the LSG innings.
The Lucknow duo had to toil hard for runs with our bowlers keeping things tight at both ends. When they tried to accelerate, our Titans kept accounting for wickets. KL Rahul was caught in the deep by Rahul Tewatia off Nalkande’s delivery. The 25-year-old showed great heart after being hit for a maximum to go full on the next ball and induce a top edge, dismissing Stoinis.

Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, and Spencer Johnson kept things from getting away in the middle and death overs.
In reply, our Titans began well with Captain Gill and Sai Su building a good foundation for the chase. The two put on a 50-run stand before our skipper departed on the final ball of the Powerplay. A few quick wickets put us on the back foot. But Rahul Tewatia gave the innings a late flourish.
In the end, we weren’t able to close off the chase in the final overs, bringing an end to a testing night in Lucknow.
