We continued our magnificent form as we defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets to register our third consecutive victory in the Indian Premier League 2025 on Sunday.

Opting to bowl first, Mohammed Siraj recorded his best IPL figures of 4/17 to restrict SRH to 152/8 in their 20 overs.

Later, our captain Shubman Gill led from the front with an unbeaten 61, along with contributions from Washington Sundar (49) and Sherfane Rutherford (35 not out), guiding us to another commanding victory in IPL 2025.

Miyaan provides brilliant start

Our bowling spearhead, Mohammed Siraj, gave us a great start as he bagged the massive wicket of Travis Head in the opening over.

Later, in the fifth over, Miyaan continued his outstanding spell as he removed Abhishek Sharma to complete the milestone of 100 IPL wickets.

Prasidh, Sai-Ki bag huge scalps

Our talented pacer, Prasidh Krishna, soon joined the party as he got rid of Ishan Kishan to reduce SRH to 50/3 in the eighth over.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen then stitched a partnership for the hosts. However, Sai Kishore provided us with a huge breakthrough in the 14th over as he cleaned up Klaasen to end their 50-run stand.

Titans restrict SRH to 152

Our star left-arm spinner, SaiKi, continued his impressive spell as he dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy to claim his second wicket of the match.

We continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals as Prasidh got the better of Kamindu Mendis.

Siraj later trapped Aniket Verma in front of the stumps, and then rattled Simarjeet Singh’s stumps in the 19th over to finish with his best IPL figures of 4/17.

Courtesy of an exceptional bowling performance, we restricted SRH to 152/8 in their 20 overs.

Washi shines on debut

Chasing 152, our batters were off to a tough start as we lost Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler early in the chase.

Our debutant Washington Sundar joined captain Shubman Gill at the crease. Skipper Gill then slammed Mohammed Shami for back-to-back boundaries in the fifth over, while Washi clobbered Simarjeet Singh for 20 runs in the following over to put the pressure back on the SRH bowlers.

Gill slams match-defining fifty

Sundar and Gill continued to hit some scintillating shots as our duo registered a crucial fifty-run stand.

Meanwhile, Captain Gill led from the front as he notched up his fifty in the 13th over to put us in a commanding position.

However, we soon suffered a blow as Washi departed for a well-made 49 off just 29 balls, which included five fours and two maximums.

Hat-trick of wins

Our Caribbean southpaw, Sherfane Rutheford, was drafted in our impact sub in place of Ishant Sharma. Rutherford produced instant impact as he hit some lusty blows to inch us closer to another victory.

Rutherford hammered 35 not out from 16 balls, while skipper Gill remained unbeaten on 61 to guide us to our third consecutive win in IPL 2025.

After registering a hat-trick of wins, we have jumped to second in the IPL 2025 standings with six points from four matches. We will now look to continue our winning streak against the Rajasthan Royals at our fortress, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on Wednesday.

Brief Scores: Sunrisers Hyderabad 152/8 in 20 overs (Nitish Kumar Reddy 31, Heinrich Klaasen 27; Mohammed Siraj 4/17) lost to Gujarat Titans 153/3 in 16.4 overs (Shubman Gill 61 not out, Washington Sundar 49; Mohammed Shami 2/28) by 7 wickets.
