Gujarat Titans buy 20 players at the TATA IPL 2025 Auction, including stars like Jos Buttler, Mohammed Siraj, and Kagiso Rabada!
The Titans have assembled! After an intense two-day mega auction, Gujarat Titans are geared up for TATA IPL 2025 with a perfectly balanced squad of experience, skill, and youthful energy to vie for the coveted trophy!
Before the auction, we retained a solid core of five key players who have been vital to our success: Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Shahrukh Khan. These stars form the backbone of our squad, bringing consistency and match-winning brilliance. We’re excited to have them with us for another season!
Heading into the auction, we needed at least 13 players to complete our squad—and we nailed it. With 20 new additions, our squad now stands at 25, including 18 Indian players and seven overseas stars. Depth in every department, we’re ready to go!
Our first marquee signing was South African pacer Kagiso Rabada. Known for his raw pace and wicket-taking ability, Rabada brought immense value to the team. With 117 IPL wickets in just 80 matches, he proved himself time and again on the biggest stage. His international record was equally remarkable, with 541 wickets across formats, making him one of the most feared bowlers in world cricket.
Next, we secured the services of England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler. A legend of the game, Buttler was known for his explosive batting and incredible consistency. His IPL 2022 season was historic, amassing 863 runs, including four centuries. Buttler’s leadership experience and ability to take games away from the opposition proved invaluable to us in the coming season.
Our third big acquisition was Mohammed Siraj, one of India’s leading fast bowlers. Siraj had been a vital cog in India’s bowling lineup in recent times, and his IPL experience added another layer of strength to our pace attack. With 93 IPL wickets to his name, Siraj brought precision and aggression to the field, making him a crucial player in our setup.
Adding further firepower to our bowling unit, we brought in Prasidh Krishna. Although he missed the last two IPL seasons due to injury, Prasidh has shown his class whenever he’s played. His height, pace, and ability to deliver in the death overs make him a potent weapon. With 49 IPL wickets in 51 games, he is ready to make a strong comeback.
After securing major signings on day one, we turned to uncapped talent. We picked up Nishant Sindhu, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat, Kumar Kushagra, and Manav Suthar. Nishant, a key part of India’s 2022 Under-19 World Cup win, is a future prospect. Lomror, with a triple century in the Ranji Trophy, adds finishing power. Kushagra, a talented wicketkeeper-batter, and Manav Suthar strengthen our spin options.
Day 2 kicked off with the addition of Washington Sundar, an in-form all-rounder. Recently, Sundar took seven wickets in a Test innings against New Zealand, showcasing his skills as both a bowler and lower-order batter. We also secured Gerald Coetzee, South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in the 2023 ODI World Cup. His raw pace and ability to perform under pressure make him a thrilling addition to our squad.
In the accelerated round, we strengthened our team further by signing Arshad Khan and Gurnoor Brar. Both players are promising talents who will provide depth to our bowling options. We also brought in the hard-hitting Sherfane Rutherford, whose ability to clear the ropes at will makes him a valuable asset in the middle order.
We were thrilled to welcome back two familiar faces, Sai Kishore and Jayant Yadav. Sai has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket, while Jayant brings valuable experience and versatility to the squad. To further strengthen our bowling unit, we signed Ishant Sharma, whose years at the highest level make him an ideal mentor for our younger players.
One of our standout middle-order additions is New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips. Known for his versatility, Phillips can bat anywhere, bowl useful off-spin, and is an exceptional fielder. His all-round skills make him a perfect fit. Karim Janat from Afghanistan and Kulwant Khejroliya were our final picks, completing a highly successful auction for us.
With 25 players in our squad, we’re set for a successful season. A perfect mix of experience, international stars, and young talent gives us the depth to adapt to any situation. The Gujarat Titans are fired up to take the field and give our fans plenty to cheer. We have what it takes to bring the IPL trophy home. The countdown to TATA IPL 2025 begins, let’s make our mark!
